My youngest son, Joseph, was born 10 weeks earlier, 2lbs, 3ozs of pure joy. However because he was premature, he had to stay in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) for two months.
I could not hold him for two weeks I could only touch him through the porthole of the isolette.
When I was able to hold him, he was wrapped in two blankets to accommodate the IVs and leads that were attached to him.
A four corner blanket had no forgiveness for a preemie with leads so holding him was an issue because of my concerns of pulling or worse yet disconnecting the lead.
I looked for a blanket that would allow freer movement for the leads and snuggle ability for me and my son…and there were none….so I made one…..
